The BEST Program of Chun Yuan Christian University in the Academic Year 111 –Highlights of Universal Enhancement University: 

1. New English Proficiency Improvement Rewards: In order to encourage students to enhance their abilities in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing, a new English proficiency improvement reward has been introduced for the academic year 111. Students who participate in the same English language proficiency test between August 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023 year, and show improvement by obtaining proof of certification, are eligible to apply for a reward from the Language Center.
2. Conducting Pre-and-Post Tests for Freshmen's English Proficiency: The Language Center conducted a pre-test for the English proficiency of freshmen in September, 2022 and organized a post-test in April, 2023. This facilitates tracking students' learning outcomes and progress, allowing for adjustments in learning support measures. The improvement rate in English scores for this year reached 11.93%.
3. Recording EMI Course Learning Promotion Videos: To encourage students at our university to actively enroll in EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) courses, the BEST Promotion Office invited students who have excelled or gained experience in taking EMI courses to record videos sharing their experiences. The videos aim to provide guidance for students who have not yet taken EMI courses, encouraging them to pursue the courses. Through these shared experiences, we hope to inspire more students to enroll in EMI courses.
4. Encouraging Students to Enthusiastically Enroll in International Platform Courses: The departments recognize MOCs courses offered by external platforms, such as Coursera, edX, and FutureLearn, as elective courses for 1 credit. A reward system has been established to incentivize students to choose high-quality international platform courses. The enrollment increased 66% in the academic year 111 compared to the previous year.
5. Establishing Bilingual Website of CYCU: Administrative and academic units in CYCU have progressively completed the development of English webpages. These pages include unit introductions, latest news, faculty information, job responsibilities, important regulations, and forms, aligning with the goal of creating a "Bilingual International Friendly Campus."
6. Organizing Bilingual Campus Competition Events: To promote the EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) program and encourage the collective growth of faculty, staff, and students, the school conducted the "Taste in Chung Yuan" campus food English competition in the academic year 111. The competition aimed to enhance students' English listening and speaking abilities. A total of 57 teams comprising faculty, staff, and students participated, receiving widespread acclaim. Collaborating with local food establishments around the campus, participants creatively introduced their favorite local cuisines in English. The competition videos were featured on the BEST Promotion Office's YouTube channel, allowing people worldwide to witness the creativity of our faculty, staff, and students and learn about local Chung Yuan delicacies, contributing to the spread of a bilingual campus atmosphere.
7. Promoting Cross-School Sharing of MOOCs Instructors: We have successfully recorded and launched a fully English-taught course, "String Music Appreciation," by our English-speaking instructors on the international platform FutureLearn. In 2022, the course attracted registrations from 104 countries, with a total of 1562 participants. On February 27, 2023, the course transitioned to a paid model, and by mid-May, it had garnered registrations from students in over 11 countries, totaling 122 participants. Three additional fully English-taught instructor-led courses are currently in the process of recording and editing. 
8. Cross-School Collaboration in Student Counseling:For the first time, our university collaborated with National Central University to organize a joint campus recruitment and internship job fair. Through two collaborative events, we strengthened the employment matchmaking opportunities for students from both institutions. Additionally, during the on-campus sessions at Chung Yuan University, we introduced a "International Students Corner" for the first time, offering job opportunities for international students looking to work in Taiwan.
