1. Overview of Bilingual Program Goals and Achievements

Our school aims to be a key center for bilingual development and educational resource sharing. This year, we have outlined four main objectives:

1.1. Expand the number of English-taught courses

To improve English proficiency and career readiness, 74% of our English classes are now fully conducted in English and oral assessments are included. 

• English Writing Enhancement Course: in collaboration with AMC, for 30 students, focusing on essay writing and IELTS feedback.
• English Diagnostic Center: offering one-on-one sessions with bilingual staff, with 12 students having participated so far.

1.2. Introduction of Professional English Courses (ESP)

We introduced ten professional English courses this year, such as Teaching Professional English, Exhibition English, and English Presentation Skills, with 269 students enrolled.

1.3. EMI Course Enrollment 

This year, 50 EMI courses totaling 133 credits were offered. Enrollment included 11.27% of second-year students, 22.56% of third-year students, 9.5% of fourth-year students, and 9.09% of first-year master’s students.

1.4. English Enhancement Courses for Faculty and Staff

We offered beginner and advanced English courses, each with 15 weekly 2-hour sessions. Forty-one staff participated, covering listening, reading, speaking, and writing three essays.

1.5. Development of an International Bilingual Resource Platform 

We started a COIL Program with the University of Bern, engaging 28 students from seven countries in discussions on education. We aim to create a global bilingual resource platform to boost international academic and cultural exchanges.

2. School Self-Assessment Methodology

The Bilingual Teaching Research Center holds monthly meetings to report on progress to senior school officials. An annual self-assessment report is reviewed by the Bilingual Program Promotion Committee, and we intend to invite Professor Liu Yu-Ting from National Taiwan Normal University for an external evaluation to refine our strategy.
