In response to globalization, our university implements the BEST program to boost English proficiency and national competitiveness. Aligning with Taiwan's goal to be bilingual by 2030, BEST focuses on English-medium instruction (EMI) and enhancing students' English skills. To ensure high-quality teaching, our university's Language Instructional Resource Center launched the BEST program in 2021, including the EMI Teacher Training Program. By 2024, we have completed seven training phases, educating 111 teachers. These programs use AI tools and reflective discussions to enhance English instruction and student proficiency, supporting teaching objectives and standards. The Center also organizes EMI workshops to enhance teachers' English instruction skills, focusing on interactive teaching, collaboration, curriculum design, and assessment. To boost the English communication skills of faculty and staff, we have introduced the 'English Oral Skills Enhancement Course.' This course comprises six classes, each lasting two hours, over ten weeks, focusing on situational English communication. Role-playing and simulations with international students improve support services and enhance campus internationalization and cultural exchange. The university also offers two courses specifically aimed at improving EMI teachers' presentation skills, teaching methodologies, and classroom management. Feedback from these courses has been positive, with teachers finding them extremely beneficial for conducting classes entirely in English. These courses help teachers master precise English expression, thereby boosting their teaching confidence and classroom engagement. The Language Instructional Resource Center hosts 'English Corner' activities in Yeqin and Lequn dormitories each evening, including board game classes at the LLNC. These sessions provide a relaxed environment for students to practice English, discuss various topics, and enhance cultural exchange. The International Language Center supports CEFR-level English proficiency through EAP and ESAP courses, LLNC learning routes, and certificates like TOEIC and IELTS. It also hosts cross-cultural activities and competitions to boost motivation and improve English skills.

     Overall, these measures collectively aim to implement the bilingual learning program effectively, improving students' English proficiency and global competitiveness. Our university is committed to the ongoing development, assessment, and improvement of this program to ensure long-term success and sustainable achievements.
