NTHU's BEST Program: A Year of Remarkable Progress and Impact

In the 112th academic year, NTHU's BEST Program continued its tradition of excellence, empowering both students and faculty to embrace English as a medium of instruction (EMI). Guided by our university's motto, "Continuous Self-improvement and Virtue," the program reached unprecedented heights, achieving significant milestones and earning widespread recognition.

Key Achievements:

• Record-Breaking EMI Course Offerings: The program surpassed its ambitious goals, offering an impressive 985 EMI courses across undergraduate and graduate programs, marking a notable increase in availability and diversity.
• Enhanced Teaching Quality: A thorough analysis revealed a significant improvement in teaching satisfaction for EMI courses, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to academic excellence.
• Establishment of the Center for EMI Excellence: This dedicated administrative office now provides comprehensive support and resources to both faculty and students, strengthening the foundation for EMI success.
• Incentivizing Excellence and Professional Development: Through initiatives like the "Teaching Enhancement Plan" and "EMI TA Reward," we motivated increased participation in EMI teaching and workshops, driving further quality improvement.
• Expanded Access to English Study Resources: A wealth of resources were provided, including online learning platforms, non-credit short-term courses, one-on-one consultations, mini-English classes, and EMI workshops, ensuring students have the tools needed to excel. Engaging activities like English Corners and the Brownbag Series fostered a dynamic learning environment.
