Abstract

Abstract

Despite its short 24-year history, Asia University (AU) has achieved high rankings in THE, QS, US News, and ARWU. The College of Management stands out with several international accomplishments:

  1. AACSB Accreditation: Only 6% of business schools worldwide earn this distinction.
  2. THE World University Rankings 2025: Ranked 176-200 globally in business and economics, 2nd nationally, and 1st among private universities in Taiwan.
  3. Integration of AI and ESG: Research and Curriculum focus on AI technology management and sustainable practices like green finance.
  4. Dual-Degree Programs: Partners with institutions in Canada, France, the USA, Switzerland, and the UK. Students enhance exposure to English instruction in the first two years and study abroad in the third or fourth year, with internship opportunities available.
  5. Certified Faculty: 54 faculty members (82%) are certified in CLIL or EMI.

Since being designated as a "Key Cultivation College" in the Program on Bilingual Education for Students in College by the Ministry of Education in 2021, the college has implemented several strategic initiatives:

1.  Institutional Strategy and Management

The College of Management operates university- and college-level EMI promotion offices and committees, and has established a community of bilingual “seed teachers.” These teachers regularly organize events and share resources to enhance faculty bilingual teaching skills.

2.  Faculty and Instruction

In 2024-2025, the college offered 72 EMI courses, with undergraduate EMI surpassing KPIs. Faculty training participation reached 81%, and workshops, communities, and inter-university grants supported teaching development. Incentives and course observations promoted teaching quality.

3.  Students and Learning

Student participation in PELT exams increased, with 76–85% attendance, reflecting strong engagement in English learning. The Language Development Center offered certification courses, writing consultations, and TA training to enhance student support and learning outcomes.

4.  Quality Assurance

The college applies a PDCA cycle for EMI course quality, observing 61% of courses and reviewing 41% under AACSB AoL standards. Course review meetings and evaluations by consultants and industry experts ensure continuous improvement in teaching methods and content.

5.  Resource Sharing and Inter-University Collaboration

Two international EMI conferences were held, featuring global scholars and topics including AI in EMI teaching, cultural translation, and ethical issues. These events foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and share innovative teaching practices.
