Key Achievements and Highlights in Four Dimensions

1. Organization and Institutional Framework
The University continues to strengthen its internationalization strategies through the Internationalization Steering Committee, fostering horizontal connections and creating an educational environment aligned with the goals of the Bilingual Nation 2030 Policy. The Bilingual Education Resource Center has established a comprehensive teaching and learning support system on campus to enhance students’ bilingual proficiency, cultivating talents with international mobility and a global outlook.

2. Faculty and Teaching
Through the implementation of EMI faculty training programs, the University has cultivated seed instructors for EMI courses, enhancing their competence in English-medium instruction (EMI) and increasing the overall number of EMI courses offered. With concerted efforts in both administration and teaching, the University has reached 99 EMI courses in Academic Year 2024–2025 (113th Academic year), representing a 5.3% growth compared to Academic Year 2023–2024 (112th Academic year). The University remains committed to steady annual progress, thereby realizing its vision of becoming both an “international university” and a contributor to the “Bilingual Nation.”

3. Students and Learning
In addition to maintaining the Oxford Online Placement Test (OPT) as the basis for English course placement, the University provides students with diverse language learning environments, digital software, and course resources. Notably, in AY 113, the University co-organized a summer camp with its partner institution, the University of Calgary in Canada. With financial support from the Bilingual Education Resource Center, 39 students participated in a four-week program totaling 100 hours of ESL and cultural courses, coupled with homestay arrangements to immerse students in authentic English-speaking environments. This initiative not only broadened students’ international perspectives but also strengthened their independence and intercultural communication skills. Moving forward, the University will continue to design similar cultural immersion experiences abroad, creating authentic language learning contexts for its students.

4. Promotion and Quality Assurance
The University has developed the official website of the Bilingual Education Resource Center, which not only introduces EMI course information and disseminates bilingual education activities but also provides updates on competitions and training opportunities, serving as a one-stop portal for both faculty and students to access external resources. In terms of quality assurance, the University has adopted the PDCA framework to implement a systematic approach to quality enhancement. This includes ongoing student feedback surveys on EMI courses, reviews of EMI instructional videos, and subsequent analyses conducted by the Institutional Research Center. The results are used as a basis for improving teaching effectiveness. Furthermore, the University regularly convenes expert panel meetings and invites both internal and external specialists to provide consultation, thereby ensuring continuous progress and effective monitoring of EMI teaching quality.
