The College of Business (COB) at Chung Yuan Christian University advanced its English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) efforts in AY-113 by focusing on faculty development, student support, and international engagement.
On the teaching side, 30 faculty members took part in a peer observation system covering 46 classes, creating space for feedback and exchange of practice. In addition, 507 participants joined English enhancement workshops, and three faculty members participated in the Fulbright EMI program. To diversify the curriculum, COB offered 231 in-person EMI courses and 24 online, recognized 86 courses for innovation, and introduced 6 digital courses through the digital platform. A flexible salary incentive scheme also recognized 20 faculty members for their bilingual teaching contributions.
Students were supported through multiple initiatives. A total of 134 joined English proficiency and online training programs, while 77 were trained as teaching assistants. Further assistance included test fee reimbursements, support for English-based club activities, and Coursera scholarships. A stamp reward system was also launched to encourage active participation.
International initiatives included a U.S. summer camp, an International Business Camp with Middle Tennessee State University, a Japan internship, and a Thailand volunteer project. COB also co-hosted the 33rd Asia-Pacific Conference with Rutgers University, welcomed 13 inbound exchange students, sent 32 abroad, and organized events such as a Christmas banquet and EMI Singing Contest to foster integration and global outlook.

The College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is dedicated to cultivating professionals with strong technical expertise and a high standard of professional ethics. Its graduates have made significant contributions to Taiwan's economic development and are widely recognized by industry and society. The College was ranked 5th nationwide in the 1111 Job Bank Employer Satisfaction Survey for engineering schools. All departments have obtained international accreditation from the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET). According to the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, the University was ranked in the 601–800 band worldwide in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering subject area and placed 6th among all public and private university colleges of electrical engineering and computer science in Taiwan. The distinctive features and major achievements of the 2024–2025 Academic Year are highlighted as follows:
1. Pioneering Short-Term Exchange Program with Sister School: After over a year of careful planning, the College partnered with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in the Philippines to launch an innovative short-term teaching program. A faculty member led 23 selected students to UST for a two-week program after the semester. The course, "Computer Fundamentals and Programming," was co-taught in English by faculty from both universities, enhancing students' language skills and cross-cultural collaboration. Participants earned 2 elective credits, strengthening the international dimension of the curriculum.
2. Promoting Overseas Exchanges to Expand Global Perspectives: To cultivate globally competitive talent, the College actively organized overseas academic visits. In the academic year, 75 students participated in week-long exchanges, visiting international universities and companies. These experiences broadened their horizons and built foundations for future studies or careers abroad.
3. Establishing EMI Consultation Workshops: To support English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), the College and departments held consultation workshops. Professor Liu Yi-wen from National Tsing Hua University was invited to share EMI strategies, with 16 participants. Student consultation sessions also gathered feedback from 76 students to improve EMI course delivery.
4. Encouraging Self-Directed Learning through EMI Book Clubs: The College promoted student-initiated EMI book clubs to enhance motivation and interest in English materials. 66 groups were formed, with over 100 participants. These clubs reduced language anxiety and fostered a supportive peer-learning environment.
