Introduction

NTU EMI Teaching and Learning Center

NTU EMI Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) aims to facilitate the group development of EMI practitioners and programs across domestic partner universities through outreach services and practice-oriented resources focusing on student-centered teaching and faculty-centered support.

Support Network

1.   Faculty Retreat
To provide a supportive environment for facilitating dialogue and sharing in EMI practice and fortify peer-to-peer (P2P) network development and the opportunity to experience the EMI Skill-Building resources and the result of EMI-skill distribution.

2.   Support Group Grant Program
To offer financial assistance with the costs related to operating a support group or need startup funds for awareness events, professional development workshops, symposiums, consultation, classroom observation, and any EMI-oriented purposes.

Certified Development

1.   ISW-EMI
To offer workshops featuring theoretical concepts, hands-on practice, and ISW Certification to empower the trained faculty for students’ better adaptation to EMI courses and learning outcomes with the support of the NTU Center for Teaching and Learning Development (NTU CTLD).

2.   Sharing NTU EMI Teaching Assistant (TA) Training Program
To share well-rounded NTU TA training experience with the TA training coordinators across universities for their future program planning with the support of the NTU Academic Writing Education Center (NTU AWEC). Moreover, TLC works with NTU CTLD to incorporate the SQ3R reading comprehension method into EMI-TA training and equip TA with more advanced reading skills to facilitate teaching and learning.

Resource Sharing

1.   Digital Resource Platform
To provide the most up-to-date EMI information, including the policy, online resources, and events for EMI development.

2.   E-Portfolio
To offer unique personal archiving services to document and preserve the digital records of individual achievements on professional EMI development.

Outreach Services

1.   Seminar Tours
To actively engage and share information on the services provided by TLC through seminar tours across universities.

NTU-EMI Experiences
To share NTU-EMI experience with the EMI program coordinators across universities for future planning.
