Abstract

NKNU "GoStar UBest" focuses on promoting the two main axes of "students' bilingual ability" and "higher education internationalization", and promotes the expansion of EMI, ESP and EWP courses year by year to strengthen students' professional English communication skills in the workplace, and emphasis on teaching and interaction skills. On the other hand, NKNU hopes to build a EMI support and resource team to enhance teachers' English teaching and communication skills, accelerate the bilingualization of administrative services, and overall enhance the international competition of higher education force.

In March 2022, NKNU established the "EMI and Bilingual Education Center" to strengthen the integration and operation of resources inside and outside the school. In 2022, NKNU cooperated with the American Institute in Taiwan, which introduced three EMI and STEM experts as online consultants. The experts conducted EMI teaching workshops, TA training and other teaching professional dialogues to improve the EMI skills of teachers and students. In addition, the school held 8 teacher experience sharing lectures, organized 10 EMI and bilingual teacher-student learning communities, held more than 10 workplace English conversation workshops and other English classes to improve students' English proficiency. The activities received rave reviews and the number of beneficiaries reached over 2000 people!
