Abstract

    In line with the 2030 bilingual policy, the National Taichung University of Education takes the“popularization and improvement" strategy to integrate professional knowledge cultivation and supplement systematic teaching, improve the English teaching ability of teachers and the English ability of students as a whole, and cultivate a professional field with international mobility Bilingual talents.

    In terms of "diversified English learning channels", in addition to freshman English special courses, improve multicultural literacy and English ability of students, regularly understand basic English ability of students, subsidize and encourage students to obtain off-campus English test certificates. At the same time, conduct workshops to improve the self-study English ability of students, and encourage students to use our internal and external language self-study resources for self-study, such as language corners, professional English writing consulting services, foreign language online learning platforms (including Live ABC, LTTC, New TOEIC, Easy Test, etc.) to help students continue to improve their comprehensive English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. 

    In terms of "development and innovation of EMI courses", subsidy funds to encourage teachers to cooperate with teachers with EMI teaching experience or foreign teachers to teach together, and gradually promote bilingual courses. Support and improve the quality of bilingual teaching and learning effectiveness of students through various measures such as teaching funding assistance, teaching hour rewards, teaching assistant support, teacher community learning, and all English lectures.

    In terms of "internationalization and cross-university resource sharing", the school currently has signed sister schools with a total of 248 overseas universities; and signed dual degree programs with three foreign schools in Canada, Japan, and the United States. The school also participates in cross-school cooperation organizations such as the National Taiwan University of Education System and the National Taiwan University System to jointly offer multiple EMI courses, strengthen inter-school cooperation and expand the effectiveness of EMI courses.

    It is hoped that through the resource injection of the EMI program, we can continue to integrate and promote bilingual teaching in various departments, strengthen the ability of teachers to teach English, improve related knowledge and quality of students, and strengthen the global competitiveness of students.
