Abstract

The school's educational goal is to "cultivate professionals with humanistic qualities and application capabilities, and commit to the academic and applied development of marine-related fields" as the educational goal, hoping to nurture the basic qualities and skills of "Sea University people with marine vision and humanistic qualities". High-quality talents with the core competencies of "professional ability, creative ability, execution ability and social care ability of international competitiveness".

The school has excellent teachers and outstanding academic research performance. We hope that on the basis of the existing bilingual teaching, with the promotion of this plan, we can strengthen the English skills of our students, strengthen their communication skills with foreigners, and be able to use what we have learned. The professional knowledge learned can be correctly expressed and applied in English, which can enhance the employment competitiveness of students, and then promote the development of Taiwan's international market and economic development.

1.Overall (Unity):

Formulate a bilingual program talent cultivation goal in line with the school's school development characteristics, plan specific and feasible promotion strategies, implementation mechanisms, supporting measures, and stage goals, and obtain consensus from teachers and students (stakeholders).
2.Organization:

To prepare for the establishment of a school-level dedicated unit - EMI Teaching Promotion Center, with clear missions, sufficient professionals and resources to support it, and full cooperation and clear division of labor with other English teaching units or language centers.
3.Teachers:

Provide sufficient training and support for teachers (such as EMI training, TA, Mentorship, incentive measures, adjustment of teaching evaluation mechanism, etc.).
4.Courses:

Set the proportion target of EMI courses and increase it year by year.
5.Students:

Commonalities:

Provide sufficient training and support to all students in the school to ensure that they are fully capable of participating in EMI courses (such as pre-test, EAP and ESAP courses, assistance in improving English level above B2, ensuring learning effectiveness, incentive measures, etc.).
Set the goal of the proportion of students in our school to reach the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) B2 (including the four abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing) from the sophomore year, and increase year by year.
Set the goal of the ratio of credits taken by the sophomore and master's students of the school to EMI courses, and increase it year by year.
Encourage students to study high-quality online EMI courses at home and abroad (quality-based).
In addition to the original overseas-born cultural activities, a local-born cultural week will also be arranged to join Taiwan's local characteristic culture, education, etc. to get to know each other.

Customized:

When students graduate, students are divided into five levels from E1 to E5 according to the proportion of English courses taken. The school will mark the "full English course certification" of the level on the graduation certificate to recognize students' use of English for all aspects of learning or multilingual skills.
Gradually increase the English graduation threshold score for undergraduate students.
6. Sharing and Collaboration:

The situation of resource sharing is increasing year by year, providing nationwide sharing of EMI online module courses, and the school will also integrate EMI-related information, courses, activities and lecture information on the website of the International Office to facilitate local Inquiry of students and overseas students.
7.(Any other characteristics):

In order to let students understand the development trend of the industry, learn how to apply theory to work practice, so as to solve the problems faced in the work. When it is helpful for future employment, it can not only shorten the adaptation period of work, but also quickly develop its strengths. All departments of the School of Life Sciences of the school have off-campus internship courses. In the future, with the subsidies of the "Study Ocean Series", students are encouraged to participate in overseas internships and get in touch with the management of international companies early.
